Terna SpA CEO Flavio Cattaneo said the group will take part in at least three bids for grid operations in Brazil in 2008.
Two of the auction bids will be for companies to build power lines in Transamazonica (Tucurui-Manaus) and Rio Madeira, Cattaneo said.
The group's criteria for acquisitions are 'low risk, high returns and a solid regulatory framework,' he said.
